Who We Are
Operation Cookie Takeover was started in early 2013 by a group of cookiers who wanted to show support for a friend deployed overseas. The initial concept was to have a small group of us send a dozen cookies each, and have them passed out among some of the soldiers on base. As we cookiers tend to do, we ended up going a bit overboard.
As we discussed the idea amongst ourselves, we decided we could make a facebook page and maybe gather a little bit more attention. Word spread quickly in the cookie community, and before we knew it, we had volunteers from all over the world wanting to send cookies to our troops! We started with the hope of being able to send a few hundred cookies, and were awestruck when we ended up sending well over 10,000 cookies!
Now we're back for another Mission, and we need your help. We want to support your loved ones, your soldiers, who are deployed and protecting our country. If you have someone currently serving that you would like to receive a package, please go to our Submit a Soldier tab, and fill out their information. All addresses are kept private (never publicly posted), and only shared the volunteer that will send them cookies.
We also need volunteers, and lots of them! Any and all types of cookies are welcome! There is no minimum required; all contributions make a difference! You can volunteer alone or as a group. Everyone is welcome to participate; you need not be a professional baker. If you are interested in volunteering, please click on our Volunteer tab and sign up today!
Thank you for taking the time to support our troops!
